Battery Bird’ oversized dress printed + made in England.
This dress features a print made up of my illustrative studies of Santo Domingo Pueblo depression era jewellery. Specifically ‘Battery Bird’ / Thunderbird necklaces and earrings. This jewellery was made by Native American artists during the Great Depression as inexpensive souvenir items and was made from recycled plastics, broken records, toothbrush handles, bone, small amounts of turquoise and even the black vulcanite casings from early car batteries,.
Printed in the UK on crisp 100% cotton poplin.
Dress has two side pockets.
Ethnic cut with a boxy wide oversized shape
Model is 5′ 9″ + wears a UK 8.
Dress pictured is a size 1 (which would fit a UK 8-12). Also available in a size 2 (which would fit a UK 10-14).
