Description

These pieces are ‘A’ grade quirk pieces taken from the ‘limited’ collection of runners made for GOODHOOD London. As these are classed by me as ‘Quirk’ pieces they are priced at £468 (RRP £798) and will therefore not be part of the ‘Knight Mills X Goodhood’ colab numbered run.

The ‘quirk’ in these runners is that the circle in the design is oval in shape, this is not wrong and I doubt would have been noticed, it’s just not as I had initially planned the design to be. Apart from the slight anomaly, these pieces are perfect examples of hand weave and finish. I toyed with the idea of selling them without reduction or explanation, but decided to go with my heart and so there you go, a limited edition design, woven by a master weaver and at a greatly reduced price!. Pictures 4 and 6 best illustrate this.

– This Muroc’ runner is dedicated to my Grandpa Knight, who was based at ‘Muroc’ (now known as Edwards) airforce base in Southern California where he flew as a test pilot.

Muroc was the home of the ‘Happy Bottom riding club’, run by the legendary aviatrix Pancho Barnes. The HBRC was featured in Tom Wolfe’s 1979 book ‘The Right Stuff’ and later in the 1983 film adaptation. Happy Bottom Riding Club
